The Specifics

Storytelling is part of our cultural DNA. We tell stories throughout our days to help others understand unique viewpoints, showcase diverse portraits of our communities, and inspire those around us. GOOD is asking you to tell us how you use storytelling to unite and improve your community. Propose an idea that will allow people to share their experiences, express themselves, or educate others on a certain topic. Whether you want to tell micro-tales via post-it notes, create and distribute interviews from people in line at the coffee shop, or host a storytelling evening for children, tell us how $3,000 would help your project succeed, and you could win a grant to make it happen.

Submit a proposal between May 15 and June 12 noon Pacific Time. From June 12 to July 3, we’ll open it up to public voting. Rally your colleagues and friends to get behind your effort and join the GOOD community in selecting the winner.

Submission tips:

Include a photo or video that represents your idea. Photos should be in JPG, PNG, or GIF format, at least 570 × 345 pixels and no larger than 10MB. To include a video, use a YouTube URL.
Write at least 3-5 sentences that explain how the $3,000 award will enable you to implement your idea.

Rules & Regulations

This Challenge is open for submissions from May 15 noon PT to June 12 noon PT. Individuals, groups, and nonprofits are eligible to apply.
Submitted projects must be able to be activated with $3,000. Let us know how you’re going to put this money to work!
Projects will be featured on this page and public voting will be open from June 12 noon PT to July 3 noon PT.
The project with the most votes will receive $3,000 to implement their idea.
In order to vote, log in with your GOOD account. If you don’t have a GOOD account, it’s free to join. All you need is an email address or a Facebook account to register. You will be emailed a link that you need to click in order to validate your address.
